Prayer Diary: a practical help
Do you find it difficult to organise your prayers?
Do you feel guilty because you fail in praying for everything every time you pray?

We hope this month’s prayer diary might help. It represents one way of organising daily prayer so that we do actually pray for those to whom we have promised to pray.

Please feel free to change the daily topics or to add in others. Each person’s prayer list will be different.

The idea is that by focusing on one or two aspects of our daily lives each day we will be better able to pray and not feel guilty about forgetting one aspect or another. What is listed is a general area: you should think around that area and pray for any and every aspect of it.

Please use the diary to pray throughout the two months. Some people like to jot down what they have prayed for so that they can track God’s answers.

It may be that you like this format but you feel it is not as useful as we hope you might find it. Please let us know your opinion by speaking to a member of the magazine team; your pastoral visitor or one of the ministry team.


Pray for your immediate and close family every day.

Sunday
Focus: Preaching of the word in our church; in other Dundee churches; DECA and Dundee Based Christian organisations

Please include in your prayers:

• Today’s services.
  
• Those who are now unable to get out to the services.
  
• Those who have never come to church.

Monday
Focus: Missionaries
Please include in your prayers: Our missionary partners worldwide.

Tuesday
Focus: Your wider family and your neighbours
Please follow up prayers by a phone call or a visit.

Wednesday
Focus: Students in school or at university
Please include in your prayers: Jim & Bernard as they visit schools with Gideon bibles

Thursday
Focus: Home groups; Pastoral groups; Church friends
Please include in your prayers: Families who have been bereaved and individuals who are searching for work.

Friday
Focus: All aspects of our church: Sunday School / Roc; prayer groups; guild; session; youth clubs and uniformed organisations
Please include in your prayers: The current leaders and the need for new leaders for many of the organisations.

Saturday
Focus: Ministry team
Please include in your prayers: the consequences of the decisions made by the session about the future of the ministry team
